On the year ten 59, there is an enigmatic entry in the welsh chronicle. It says that on that year, owan abgruffeth died, meaning owains, son of gruffith. But how and why did a young man with no records of illness or frailty die so suddenly? So historians have been putting the pieces of this story back together. And it all begins with awain's mother.
