I think there's an artistry in nature that has a beauty we're all wired up to appreciate. There's another deeply rational sort of question that can lead to good ideas. It goes like this, isn't it ludicrous that so many things we encounter every day are designed so poorly? That's rather an arrogant way of putting it. If you don't go round looking at things critic y to see if the no's a good idea, or if there cold be an improvement, or how i would improve it. I think really, almost all engineers do that. If youdon't, you're not really an engineer.
