The Origin of Hang-Ups

If you have a hang-up, this means that there is something that is being blocked from getting you information. And therefore, and so quite often, what happens is that there is some kind of hang-up that is entrenched when you are young. It seems to me that often it would be too much effort, unnecessary effort, to trace the history of that entrenchment. But I do think you can do it that way, though.
