At the turn of the twentieth century, the russian empire is a realm of deep inequality. From the shadows emerges a man determined to challenge the status crow. But once installed in power, his workers utopia descends swiftly into a nightmare of totalitarianism as idealism gives way to cruelty and barbarism.
