The Myth of the Blue Jeans in Vietnam
A lot of guys wore blue jeans, which kind of makes sense to me because they're tough. And then sometimes we wore panty holes underneath that to keep leeches off us. We'd take the Levi's and put them into our jungle boots and rigors tape them around. How about going barefoot? Well, we had a couple guys that do that and guys stepped on stuff and injured themselves. I didn't see that very much at all myself in my platoon.
