The Importance of Sam Zell in the Commercial Real Estate Industry
Sam Zell's impact on the commercial real estate industry is probably the most significant of anyone in the history of commercial real estate certainly in the United States. Peter and I are both saddened by the loss of our friend Sam and this industry. Hopefully we'll continue to move forward in a great way, but it will clearly do so without the leadership of the great Sam Zell. A couple headlines as we dive in: Savile's estimates that there is $811 billion of global real estate private equity dry powder sitting on the sidelines.
