The Eucharist and the Holy Anointing
In preparation for the early Christians to partake of the Eucharist, Bishop Cyro of Jerusalem in the fourth century wrote about their anointing. They were washed and anointed to prepare to take the emblems of Jesus, his flesh and blood. And so I find that really interesting that many of these things, Bryce, the early Christians saw this as, no, we need to be clean from these things,. We need to be anointed in the sense of we want to be like Christ.
