The Debt Ceiling Crisis and the Federal Reserve's Resolved Budget

The last time the US got very close to default and we didn't lower our allocation to the stock market in 2011 and the market sold off, it felt awful. In my personal account, I actually did reduce my allocation sum and then I didn't get back in fast enough. Bottom line is I don't anticipate that the US government will default on its debt.
