Ernest Becker's denial of death has been ignored since 1973. He died at 49 years old, so there was no institutional backing or support for the emergence of a school of thought. The closest thing to that would be terror management theory and social psychology. There really is now starting to be a lot of attention to Becker's ideas through terror management theory in social psychology.
