The Early Evolution of Science

i've often wondered, like, what would the course of human science have been if the moon wasn't titily locked? Once you get to that point in your kind of social evolution of scientific principles, then your own physical, biological senses are way less important. But if it helps a lot with the early evolution of your science - i'm curious how you thought about that.
