I Think It Could Have Been an Imperial Mining Disaster in Rogue One
I feel like this mining disaster mentioned may have happened a lot later after when they were kids potentially I'm not sure. Cassian also at one point refer to Cranari as a as a was like when he references the planet he almost speaks of it as if it's not really a planet anymore. If that was the planet after mining disaster and they were calling them imperials and everything yeah I think that does raise some questions about timeline and continuity don't you?
