How to Succeed in the Early Stages of a Startup

A lot of people listening in are people who haven't started a company yet. What's your one tip that you would give to somebody very early on for how they can succeed and keep going? Think long term and optimize for the long term like I really hate these tips that kind of tell you like you know quit your job and work on this for three months and see how it goes.
