The Meaningful Results of the Xi'an Summit
This was advertised as sort of presenting a new blueprint for China-Central Asia relations. I don't really see the new blueprint, at least not in the declaration that was announced or in Xi's speech. There were a lot of bilateral meetings which I'm still working through analyzing. But I think this was the most consistent and sort of clearest iteration of Chinese ambitions in Central Asia. It does propose questions to Russia's legacy involvement in the region.
