The Dangers of Looking Back to History
There is often a warning that we are at a moment just like the one in 1914. To extent it is true, what lessons should we draw from it? I think as long as we don't see the parallel as an exact one, we can learn from it. The use of analogies in thinking about the world can help us think about it, but can also become a trap because we then start to think about the world in a certain way.
