Nuclear Waste - What Are We Doing With It?

We've been creating nuclear waste for more than 70 years and we still haven't got a permanent solution. It begs the question, what have we been doing with it for all this time? There have been efforts to start processing some of this high level waste, like the spent fuel rods. So they're plonked in cooling ponds - just think of our snowing pool. If you look at one of these fuel ponds, you will see a glow and it's a blue glow due to chorinca radiation. They're great things to look in.
