Tony Morrison, Homer and the Western Canon
i find it so invigorating to read homer, not just because of the story and the poetry, but that it's describing this pre christian world. It lets you see humanity before christianity. And i wondered, you know, was he thinking, we don't have a western canon until english is a right? That's my improvmoment for tony morrison. I'm going to basically kind of question the idea of where he began. My number one pick is homer.
