A kilo of Koca leaf sells for just a few US cents, well under a dollar. A kilo of cocaine sells for anywhere between about 25,000 and 40,000 US dollars. The farmer who grows Koca now is broke. They are really poor farmers. But lots of people who didn't make that change are economically very badly off.
