Is the Left a Pro or a Conservative?

It seems like the conservative side of the political isle is very much pro crypto, hands off regulation. The left side is more cautious and wants tighter regulations,. Is that too simple, d of a way to think of it? Or from your experiences, is that sort of what's going on? I haven't thought about it under those models. But i've always looked at this as even earlier than that, in that none of the commentary that i'm hearing on the bares side, left or right, makes sense.
