The Common Response Is This Is Not a Common Response, Right?

I think the thing that I'm trying to challenge here is the idea. The common response is to this kind of assume that people are dumb, that they don't know what they're doing. And therefore, this decision was made essentially blindly. But if that's true and that's your audience, then the paper should have an explanation for why other approaches were bad. Why do you think it doesn't? Because people aren't good at writing successful analyses. Not that they're dumb. It sounds like it's the communication and presentation part that's bad, right? Well, perhaps.
