Stuff You Missed in History Class

CHAPTER

Collette Wheelie and the Claudine Book

Collette had a brief relationship with Natalie Clifford Barney, an American writer who moved to Paris and hosted a women-only salon. Barney herself was famously openly lesbian at a time when homosexuality was heavily stigmatized. She published Dialogue De Bit or Creature Conversations under the name Collette Wheelie in 1904.
