Is Open Source Too Successful?

Open source doesn't have like a universally positive reputation among engineers. If we don't fix that, the pendulum will swing back to proprietary because people just want an easy life. We've already seen a shift in policies so organizations no longer control open source at the point of entering through contract. And there should be an internal policy in every user that talks about their tolerances.
