Carbon Offsets - How to Reduce Your Carbon Emissions
I want people to be as excited about those companies cutting their carbon as the idea that they're going to absorb them. I think it lets us ignore quite how heavily weighted it is to how many tons of carbon dioxide are necessarily being pumped out into the atmosphere. And similarly, although carbon negative shows you offset more than you emit, companies should still start by cutting the amount of carbon they are emitting. Now then, let's turn to the other method of carbon offsetting that Tom mentioned earlier, direct air capture. To find out how that works, I spoke to Christoph Boitler, head of climate policy at ClimbWorks.
