Leonidas and the Greeks

Most of the greeks wanted to retreat before they were fully encircled, and get away with their lives. Butle onidas was determined to remain behind and fight to the last. He did allow any one who wanted to leave to withdraw and flee to the south. And most of the Greeks that were there at thermopole took advantage of this and left leoni.
