The Gospels of John and the Portico of Solomon

The Gospels are being questioned because of their supernatural claims. But there is strong circumstantial evidence to believe that they were written by people who knew Jesus and lived in the first century Jewish world prior to the temple's destruction. The gospel of John, for example, reflects information only somebody who lived at the time of Jesus could have known.
