The Belarus Awakening

The case of Khalid Said, a young Egyptian man who was brutally tortured and killed by the police made it to the internet. A picture of his disfigured body led even to the launching of a very popular at the time Facebook page. In the end, the protests in Egypt led to the overthrow of Mubarak, and eventually the installation of a military regime. The Belarus Awakening took place 3,000 kilometers away in August 2020.
