I wanted to bring up when it comes to the history of cybernetics, the role of US rubber-batter philanthropy. I didn't think much about the role of philanthropists in shaping knowledge. You think they just give out the money and it's just charity, but then there's so sort of like political motivations behind that. The book is written as a comparative history in which both France and the United States play a decisive role in thinking about new ideas of information.
