The Harkening Technique on the Inernet by Herby Hancock
Hocketing is the sound of a bamboo flute playing only one note. It's an intoxicating sound, and it really pulls you in. There was a recording of bobonzele pigmy musicians from the sixties which was the inspiration for one of herby hancock's biggest songs that popularized this sound. Even contemporary indy pot bands use hawkening. Like take the dirty projectors cover of black flag's gimmy, gimmy gimmy.
