In the last 12 months, about 1,100 people were shot and killed by police. 27% of those killed were black while the US population is 14% black. 51% of those shot were white while theUS population is 57% non-Hispanic white. One in five victims had confirmed mental health issues. Overall, the US ranks 33% in the world for police-confirmed killings.
