i studied mentle health counselling in school, and i remember one of the biggest things that they taught us was listening. We have to listen. And probably, like 99 % of us, are going to find that our attention drifts. You know, you think yourself, o shot. I'm so stressed about this email i just got, or something. So inevitably, your attentionis going to drift. And then try to take o breath again, and then re direct your attention back to the other person. If you practise that and make it kind of incorporated into your routine, especially with the more substantive conversations you have with people, you can get better at it. It takes practice.
