The Functions of the Kidneys
The creation of new red blood cells, EPO. This is through the release of a hormone called renin. The big nutrients that you absorb to keep you going would be carbohydrates, fats, proteins. Protein are more challenging because they have an amino end which is got a nitrogen there and some hydrogen. When they're broken down to make energy, they produce ammonia. And we know that ammonia is something that we clean our bathrooms with. It doesn't smell their claws. So NH3 is the chemical structure so that would be presumably toxic. We're in a very smart system. I wonder how it would know though.
