Gas Oil
Currently gas in most countries doesn't pay any car tax. You don't pay anything for the carbon that you emit electricity. So if you then want to persuade people to switch away from gas and use real electricity instead, it just often doesn't stack up because of the economics. Once you change that, then over the lifetime of the appliance that you buy, you can actually save money. And that's what other countries have done. I think it's just in the UK where we're particularly bad. We're stuck in our own ways that we think cheap gas is available. Well, it's not anymore either.
