The Importance of Diversity in Life

Kenny grew up in Elkins Park, Philadelphia to two parents who had a real tradition of service. His mom's been a career in the Philadelphia school district both as a teacher and then as a guidance counselor. And his dad was a mid level government guy worked for HUD and did housing urban in a bunch of different communities. So that sense of disparity, race, class, power, privilege, although I wouldn't have used those words in my adolescence, really stuck with me early on.
