Functional Programming - What Is Functional or Not?

React and View have made big changes over the last couple of years. I don't think functional and object oriented paradigms are actually in conflict very much, even though you don't see things like classes and objects in purely functional languages. But we can dive into the specifics of maybe why view three and react hooks aren't functional at all. Okay. So we are here to talk functional programming and what is and what it's not and whether things are functional or whether they're not. AJ and Lane had talked about this topic a little bit. And so we'll just let Lane give the intro where this came from and where we want to go.
