What's the Emotional Valence of AI?
Sally Kohn: I think one could agree with everything you're saying and say on the merits, we have kind of over indexed on the negatives of AI. But nevertheless, it still makes more sense for academics, journalists, commentators, to focus on that because in the broader political economy, the companies are so powerful they will run roughshod over anyone who tries to stop them. She says if we only talk about the problems as the public discourse, people don't want to go to Silicon Valley or do some work there anymore. Skelton: It's an empirical question of what is the right mix of how we look at questions from like policymakers or reporters.
