The Importance of Historical Accuracy in the Bible

In many books of the Bible, history is in service to the narrative. That what matters most is telling this story about how God did something with God's people. They're not writing a historical volume for us. And so their concerns about getting all the details right is not a concern in the way that it is for us. We can't let go of historical accuracy and still have the Bible be meaningful.
