Cassim Quassam on Conspiracy Theories

Philosophy Bites

CHAPTER

Why Is It Necessary to Believe Confederacy Theories?

The tendency to believe conspiracy theories echoes, in some ways, a philosophical approach. Through out history, philosophers haven't been satisfied with appearances. They're looking for the reality that lies behind appearances. And interestingly, if you go back to the popkin scenario, popkin wrote about scepticism. He was also as he would undoubtedly have said, sceptical about the findings of the warren commission. It's not going to be sufficient, usually, with conspiracy theories just miss them and dismiss what they say.
