The Rise of Indie Publishing
I sincerely hope that this rise in indie publishing being more and more accessible will put at minimum pressure on publishers to for example raise the 7.5% royalty on trade paperback which is absolutely criminal it's twice that for hardcover but most genre books don't get put out in hardcover they never even have a chance to earn that kind of money so I think there's a lot of change that needs to happen. Once you no longer have those resources all that's left is institutional prestige and validation which I could care less about because I've done it before and can do it again if I wanted to. In the end probably we'll make a lot more money for doing it that way
