The Uncontrollable Mood Swings After the Accident
In the weeks and months after the accident, Phil's behavior became more and more erratic. The calm, competent, thoughtful old Phil had to share family time with angry, nervous, short-tempered Phil. Sometimes he would go into what he calls fugue states. Kind of a mental dark period in which he was confused, pissed off, and hypersensitive to light and sound. He'd become a bag of shattered glass, really.
