The Impact of Netflix on Russia's Propaganda
There is a constant challenge of controlling this secular liturgy. People are turning to the internet and even if certain channels are being blocked they're using VPNs to still access them or just turning their TVs off. Netflix is at present watched more than for example the flagship 60 minutes daily propaganda program that is put out on state television. It's one thing when you actually have someone like Salavjov giving his monologues but when you then now have these very combative talk show format approach it's much more Jerry Springer than Newsnight.
