Rome and britain continued to be fairly prosperous, a fairly strong society until the beginning of the four hundreds. The romans called them picked, meaning painted, because apparently they traditionally painted or tattooed their bodies. They often lived in wooden fortresses, especially fortresses on stilts built over waterways. That seems to be their kind of preferred dwelling place.
