Screenwriting Life - What's the Weather Report?

When I used to work at Steppenville Theater when I was a young one, the one of the top things they put in addition to how many people were in the audience was what the weather was outside. And it's always stuck with me because that's sort of what we're talking about in a different way is like, what's the weather report? What's the mood here? We're asking you to pick a tone and pick a pony so that when the audience is walking out of the theater, they are all walking out in the same mood because of where you took them with that tone.
