The Matriarch of a Family
In the beginning of this book, chapter one, we meet the first member of this family. She is 12 years old, and she will be married in the morning. So I think there, you know, in that era, especially not at all now, it was not uncommon for people to be married at 12 to a 12-year-old groom. And so she's the matriarch of this family, and basically, the story unfolds around her until her namesake sort of concludes the story.
