Huerta - A History of the Mexican Army

Huerta joined the Mexican army as a young officer just as Porfirio Dios was taking over. As he rose up the ranks, Huerta bounced around Mexico fighting indigenous uprisings. He survived all of Dios' slow purges, and he thrived under the autocratic system. In early August 1911, General Huerta led 1,000 men up into the mountains to pacify Morelos.
