The cars don't need to have this sort of higher level of intelligence to be able to deal with 99.9% of the scenarios that it's going to face, he says. Waymo is looking for these weird edge cases where somebody just jumps out into the middle or there's something that looks like a barrier, but it's not. He asks: When does this get good enough? And again, when you think about if I bring this back to art tools and not sort of kind of life and death thing, it can be awesome for prototyping.
