The Inevitability of Escalation

I don't think it's inevitable but I think that at least the high profile cases of fighting it seem to me to have the effect of inflaming it and maybe in some way they have the intended effect. That is if any time someone makes a demand everybody is well advised to give into the demand because otherwise I will escalate it then there doesn't seem to be much pressure to resist making more demands. So you inflame a war by fighting it especially a culture war. Fighting it itself is like I said ball a clue but it doesn't it's not to say it's inevitable it's just to say to that I think is the likely outcome under the current side of circumstances.
