I always thought of the economy as a thing external to human forces in terms of intentional human forces. Now I'm beginning to realize that it is either rightly or foolishly the subject of a lot of human intervention. And we're in this weird mess where the Federal Reserve are doing it, the markets are doing it and we're having to take all the pain in the meantime.
