The Relationship Between the IMF and Pakistan and Argentina

In 2019 Atea published a book with a title Financing Africa which looks at the history and present of money, tax and debt on the African continent. In her more recent work she's been focusing on Argentina and Pakistan which have had a long history of borrowing from the IMF. Since the 1950s the two countries have received multiple loans to address economic challenges including inflation, currency devaluation and external debt crises. The IMF policies have been really criticized without a connection to human rights. If you're privatizing social services, you're removing your responsibility away from the people but you're still collecting taxes in order to pay back the loan.
