The Importance of Literature in Iraq
I am Baghdad's first female book sailor and publisher. I run my own shop on Al-Mutanabhi Street, which is famous for book shops. We Iraqis are so attached to literature because we invented writing. In ancient Mesopotamia, it was our gift to the world. My latest book is about grief, and it is dedicated to my late father who died of COVID-19 or pandemic.
