The Neolithic Way of Life in South Asia
Mehergar may have been the actual center of domestication for this lineage. It was the Zebu, rather than fertile crescent cattle, that eventually spread throughout South Asia and beyond. Other settlements echoed what was happening at Mehergar by the middle and late 4000s BC. This Neolithic tradition began a fair bit later than it did in Mergar with the earliest dates coming from around 3300 BC.
