The Science of Metacognition in the Courtroom
Studies have shown that confidence of eyewitnesses is a very strong predictor of whether the jury believes that this actually happened or not. The state of New Jersey now provides information to the jury about how metacognition is not always good. So, yes, so there's lots of cases where the accurate metacognitions, we'd like to have it in place in lots of situations, but it is not in place.
